Indes Fuggerhaus is situated in a rural part called „Oberbergisches Land“ 60 kilometres east of Cologne. Surrounded by forests and lakes. Product development, marketing, customer service and warehouse all under one roof. Additionally they have showrooms in Munich, Berlin and Vienna and their production facilities are spread around the globe.
IndesFuggerhaus uses the Rendering Platform on a self-service basis to create all of their marketing imagery needs in-house.
Products used:
IndesFuggerhaus set out the goal to render images in-house without extensive knowledge in 3D. This was made possible through the colormass Rendering Platform.
The first step was to develop a series of environments, including three room scenes and three studio setups, which were created by the colormass team. These environments are easily accessible to the IndesFuggerhaus team from any location, since the colormass platform can be used directly through a browser.
Below you can see the three room scenes (first row) and the three studio scenes (second row):
In addition to creating these environments, IndesFuggerhaus also sent their samples to the colormass Scanner Station where they were fully digitized using the colormass Scanner. Below you can see a small excerpt from the digitized library.
Using these virtual assets IndesFuggerhaus shifted its rendering production completely in-house. All the team members of IndesFuggerhaus received a ca. 1-2 week training about using the rendering platform and after that they were ready to generate any number of images of their products. Whether it's for a marketing campaign or a custom image created for a customer request, with the colormass Rendering Platform they can generate any number of images at scale with ease.
You can see an example of how the pillow scene is used and edited:
It's important to mention it again that this 3D editing happens entirely in the browser, which means that they don't have to install any 3D tools/plugins and they don't keep 3D stack matched across multiple PCs to avoid errors and don't have to establish a central server for storing 3D assets. Any of the team members at IndesFuggerhaus can just simply log-in and start generating images. This is the key to scaling rendering.
Below you can also see how a complete room environment is edited and rendered:
The team of IndesFuggerhaus, using the scene editor in the browser (see above) has generated many different images. The prepared scenes were only the starting points and from these many variation images were generated: with different color selection, with different camera possitions or with different selection of props.
All these images were generated by IndesFuggerhaus completely in-house, without any background in 3D. The onboarding to the platform took roughly 1-2 weeks but after this period all members of the marketing team could create images of their own.
These assets can be combined and modified in any way, meaning that for a specific fabric one could prepare a pillow, abstract and a room image and by this time IndesFuggerhaus already developed a considerable library of assets that can be used by any member of the marketing team at any time, without big onboarding procedures.
