You can read about the way we digitized and rendered a 3D shoe, using the colormass ecosystem, from a single sample.
To demonstrate the technological depth of the colormass 3D ecosystem, we embarked on an experimental project to digitize and create photorealistic images of a shoe. We purchased a pair of shoes online, selecting a model featuring diverse reflective properties and multiple material types in one sample. Upon receiving the shoes, we carefully dissected them into individual components so that we could scan each texture individually the colormass svBRDF Scanner. Once we had the individual pieces we put it on the colormass scanning table and scanned all parts (11 in total) of the shoe to extract the complex reflection properties of each element.
After scanning the individual pieces, we proceeded to tile them. Despite the small scanned area, the colormass Tiling Toolset enabled us to effectively tile each segment of the the shoe.
Once the materials were finalized, we used the colormass Rendering Platform to create shoe renders in a studio setup. The editor allows us to build a fully virtual studio environment—including lighting, backdrops, cameras, and more—that achieves realism comparable to a physical photo studio.
You can see the final renders below all created entirely within the colormass 3D ecosystem:
